1.6 DCi Diesel Tuning Developments

The new 1.6 DCi engines in the Nissan Qashqai 2007 and 2014 and Nissan Juke operate the very latest engine management system.

Running a Bosch EDC17C42 ECU the little 1.6 DCi puts out market leading performance as standard and on the rolling road the 1.6 DCI 130bhp managed a very impressive 140bhp and 228lbf. The profile developed for this new 1.6 DCi engine is to provide good fuel economy gains with a wide spread of torque ensuring a nicer drive without being aggressive. With power up to 158bhp and 250lbft torque the Qashqai 1.6 DCi provides for effortless in gear performance whilst maintaining a factory feel to the drive just with more power and torque available at all RPM's. The emphasis isn't always on power as a 1.6 DCi engine has a relatively small clutch, too aggressive with the power will certainly shorten its life span.
